Purchasing Procedure at Fairs & Markets

At Hedley’s, we make it easy to manage your purchases when buying directly from multiple dealers. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay each individual dealer directly.

Purchase Books & Labels

For your convenience, you will receive a purchase book, along with Hedley’s stickers and swing tickets, to help you keep track of your acquisitions. Simply tag each item you purchase with a Hedley’s label, so the dealer knows what to release and to whom it should be handed over.

Collection Process

Once we receive copies from your purchase book, Hedley’s will collect your items as soon as possible and coordinate transport or storage as arranged.

Purchase Book Copies

Each purchase form produces four color-coded copies:

1. White and Blue copies – To be posted or handed in to the Hedley’s Office.

2. Pink copy – To be given to the seller/dealer.

3. Green copy – To be retained by you as your personal reference.

Ordering Purchase Books

Purchase books are free and available in 10-leaf or 50-leaf volumes. Please specify your preferred size when ordering.

We can supply you with a courier to help you with your purchases. If you are not familiar with your whereabouts but still want to enjoy art or antique shopping, why not take advantage of our courier service. We can supply you with a courier with local knowledge who may just help you to track down that elusive piece to complete your collection or furnish your home.

If you happen to find yourself in Paris, the Flea Market or the French Riviera our French couriers all speak fluent English and can help with translation and to negotiate that special bargain.

In addition, all our French office staff speak fluent English.
